scr888 I've been working with freebies for about a year now, and I had all of the same problems you are going through right now. I contacted no less than 150 friends, family, Facebook/Myspace contacts, email contacts, anyone I could think of, thinking there HAD to be at least 7 or 8 of them who would do me a solid. WRONG. So forget all the crazy YouTube videos you have seen promising thousands of referrals for doing nothing, hacked links, all that garbage. Become a member of a real, legitimate freebie community and get to know the people in it. Arm yourself with the information they provide, and get started getting your freebie the right way.
